Our Story King Krane Coffee Co. is built on family, legacy, and a love for exceptional coffee. The name itself holds a special place in my heart. Years ago, I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to meet my family in Houston. My late uncle, Rolando Garza, introduced himself in his eccentric way as "Roland Crane." Confused, I asked where he got that last name from, and he casually replied, "Well, you know, a Garza is a crane in English..." We laughed, and that moment became an inside joke between my wife and me—so much so that we used an origami crane as our wedding cake topper.

Fast forward to a family vacation at the San Francisco Zoo, where I came across a stunning bird known as the "King Crane," named for the regal crown of feathers on its head. That, along with my personal nickname "King Richard," inspired me to create something that felt both personal and meaningful. Blending these elements together, we formed King Krane Coffee Co.—a name that represents family, heritage, and a commitment to quality. It’s also why we embrace a bird theme in our coffee names, honoring the native birds of the regions where our beans are grown.

Meet the Founder I’m Richard Garza, a husband, father, and coffee lover. My passion for craftsmanship, quality, and meaningful experiences led me to create King Krane Coffee Co. As a family-owned business, every bag of coffee we ship is a labor of love. My wife and our three beautiful daughters play a huge role in what we do—two of them even helped name our signature coffees, "Junco" and "Aracari." When needed, they jump in to help print, package, and ship orders, turning it into a fun family event.

For us, coffee is more than just a business—it’s a way of life. It’s about those quiet moments before the world wakes up, the conversations shared over a warm cup, and the creativity that a great brew can spark. That’s the experience we want to bring to you.
